Hopefully the weather will continue with sunshine throughout the weekend. Winter in the Ashland area will include many things to do, including: Snowshoe at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center, XC Ski at the Ashland ski trail behind Memorial Medical Center, Snowmobile on the trails in Ashland County (now in excellent condition), ice fish on Lake Superior/Chequamegon Bay where all species of fish are biting (check out our web site for a list of charter fishermen and bait shops to call for an update on safe ice), slide on the two hills in Ashland (one behind City Hall and one on 16th Ave. West and 6th Street), ice skate behind the Bretting Community Center and on the East End Rink.
